25th Jubilee

The Risingholme Orchestra was pleased to present its jubilee concert at The Piano on Sunday the 18th June.

We thank all those who came to share in the occasion and enjoy the music with us. It was an almost ‘full house’ at the Philip Carter Family Concert Hall.
We wish to acknowledge the leadership of our Musical Director and Conductor, Dr Philip Norman and Guest Conductor Anthony Ferner.

Letter to the Editor (The Press, 1 June 2017)

Orchestra milestone

Bravo indeed to Philip Norman, guest artists and members of the Risingholme orchestra as they celebrated 25 years to a packed and highly appreciative audience in The Piano (June 18). The orchestra has progressed amazingly over the years and are a great credit to all concerned, both past and present.

Interviews

As part of the celebrations an interview was recorded and went to air between Jesse Mulligan and Philip Norman.

The jubilee was also an occasion for celebrating the valued contributions of those of our members who are still playing members in their 90s. In particular we noted the musical talents of Doug Kelly and Mel Smith who were interviewed for Radio New Zealand by Zoe George.
